Duke has worn white, royal blue and silver helmets in the past. Official colors from the 1940's and 1950's indicate Royal Blue and White, Navy Blue and White or Blue and White. You can definitely see the difference in the shades of Blue used not only in the color photos but also the B&W. Duke is also one of the few teams to wear the MacGregor padded helmet that was also worn by BYU, Cornell, Colgate, and Ohio State.

2008-2009 COLOR: White STRIPES: Royal Blue FACEMASK: Gray LOGO: Royal Blue "D". This logo is known as the "Iron Duke D". NOTES: Also worn for the first nine games of the 2009 season. Stripe is narrower than next version.

2007 Special (Vs. Georgia Tech 11-10-2007) COLOR: White STRIPES: Black-royal blue-black FACEMASK: Black LOGO: None

NOTES: No decals were worn in recogniton of the 1938 team that finished the regular season unbeaten, untied and unscored upon.
